Teodoro Romero claims Salvadorean Liga Superior weekly honour

Experienced Teodoro Romero (202-C-85) had a great game in the last round for league's second-best Arce and that's him to receive a Interperformances Player of the Week award for round 14.
The 34-year old center had a double-double of 28 points and 32 rebounds, while his team crushed Juayua (8-4) with 23-point margin 77-54. The game was between two of the league's top four teams. Arce is placed at 2nd position in Salvadorean Liga Superior. They would have been even better if they hadn't lost a few games earlier this season. Arce will need more victories to improve their 8-4 record. Romero has many years of experience at Arce, through which he has constantly improved. Romero has impressive league stats. He is in league's top in points (2nd best: 20.6ppg) and averages solid 3.3bpg and 54.2% FGP.

The second most remarkable performance in last round's games was young American forward Harrison Rieger (193-F-98) of Juayua. Rieger impressed basketball fans with 5 points, 13 rebounds and 4 assists. Bad luck as Juayua lost that game 54-77 to slightly higher-ranked Arce (8-4). It was definitely game of the week between two contenders to the title. Juayua still maintains its place in the top 3 of the standings, even despite this loss. His team's 8-4 record is not bad at all. Rieger is a newcomer at Juayua and it seems he did not have too much trouble to become one of team's leaders. He belongs to the best scorers in the league with 22.3ppg (#1). His other stats are also decent: 15.5rpg and 3.3apg.

The third best performed player last round was another Arce's star - Fernando Canada (170-PG-02). Canada scored 14 points. He was another key player of Arce, helping his team with a 77-54 easy win against #3 ranked Juayua. Arce needs these victories very badly if they think about taking over top position in the standings. Their record at this point is 8 victories and 4 lost games. Canada has a great season in El Salvador. After 11 games, he made it on the list of the league's leaders in assists with 3.0apg (5th best).
